LION KING ACTRESS PRODUCES "DUETS," A BENEFIT CONCERT FOR
T.H.E. CLINIC AND SOCIETY OF SINGERS
LOS ANGELES, CA - (August 26, 2002) - Carla Renata, who is currently featured as SHENZI in the Los Angeles Production of Disney's ® THE LION KING, has joined forces with Agouron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. to produce "DUETS," a concert benefit for T.H.E. Clinic and Society of Singers. "DUETS," a celebration of life through song, dance and spoken word will take place at 8:30PM on Monday, September 16, 2002, at the Assistance League of Southern California® Theatre for Children in Hollywood.
In addition to producing the event, Carla will be joined by various cast members of THE LION KING, spoken word artists Shonnese C.L. Coleman & Cheray O'Neil, and celebrities Dawnn Lewis & T.C. Carson performing material from the golden age of Motown to hit Broadway shows and animated feature films.
T.H.E. (To Help Everyone) Clinic, located in the Crenshaw district of Los Angeles, provides medical and social services to women with HIV/AIDS and the Society of Singers is a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance and monthly showcase opportunities for professional singer in the entertainment industry.
